Which ad type should I use?

N.Rich has four ad types. Some build awareness and intent, others drive clicks to your website. This article compares them so you can pick the right mix for your campaign.

The four ad types

Ad type

Best for

Runs on

Counts as engagement

Article ads

Awareness and building intent with longer content

N.Rich DSP

Scrolling through at least 50% of the article

Video ads

Awareness and building intent with video

N.Rich DSP

Watching at least 20 seconds

Cross-channel ads

Clicks, with images and text Google combines automatically

Google

A click

Image display ads

Clicks, with full control over the design

Google

A click

A good campaign mixes formats: Article and Video ads build intent, and Cross-channel and Image display ads capture the click when people are ready. Run Image display ads alongside Cross-channel ads rather than on their own.

How N.Rich shows your ads

Your ads are only shown to people from the accounts in your campaign's Segments, not to people who just look like them. They're placed automatically across a large network of websites these people visit. See the intro into programmatic advertising.

  • The N.Rich DSP (Demand-Side Platform) runs Article and Video ads.

  • The N.Rich bridge to Google Ads runs Cross-channel and Image display ads. These ads need Google's approval, and their campaigns can go into a Learning period after they go live or after big changes. See Google Ads Learning Stage.

You don't connect your own Google Ads account. Every N.Rich account gets its own Google Ads account automatically, which neither you nor N.Rich staff can access. Its stats show up in N.Rich analytics. If you run your own Google Ads, keep doing so: your N.Rich ads don't compete with them.

How many ads per campaign?

There's no limit to the number of ads in a Campaign. But every ad needs budget to be effective, and spreading a campaign's budget across too many ads weakens the whole campaign. The right number depends on your strategy and budget.
