How to free up intent topic slots
Last updated: October 8, 2026
Your account has a limit on how many intent topics you can monitor. If you've reached it, free up a slot before you add a new topic or competitor.
How the topic limit works
The limit applies to your whole account and is shared across all your intent reports.
A topic used in several reports counts once. Re-using a topic you already monitor doesn't take another slot.
Competitors count towards the same limit as intent topics.
Topics used only in deleted reports no longer count.
Custom intent topics have their own, separate limit.
Your limit depends on your plan.
See which topics are in use
In an intent report's settings, open the third-party intent step and click into the intent topics or competitive intent field. The topic search shows how many topics of your allowance you have used. Under Your other topics in use, hover over the check mark next to a topic to see which reports use it.
Free up a slot
Find the reports that use the topic or competitor you want to drop.
In each of those reports, open the settings, go to the third-party intent step and click the x next to the topic or competitor.
Save. Once the topic is removed from every report that uses it, the slot is free.
