What are the Cross-channel ad requirements?
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Use this checklist when you prepare images and text for a Cross-channel ad. Assets that don't meet these requirements can't be saved, or may be disapproved by Google.
Images
Up to 14 images per ad
File types: .png, .jpeg, .jpg
File size: less than 5MB
Ratios: landscape 1.91:1 and square 1:1, 1200x628px and above
We recommend 12 landscape and 2 square images. When you upload an image, you can use it as landscape, square or both, so you don't need to prepare square versions separately.
Avoid text on images: Google may disapprove the ad.
Text
Field | How many | Max characters | Rules |
|---|---|---|---|
Headline | Up to 5 (at least 1) | 30 | No exclamation marks, no emojis |
Description | Up to 5 | 80 | Max one exclamation mark, no emojis |
Business name | 1 | 25 | Applies to this ad only |
Button URL | 1 | 1800 | N.Rich adds UTM parameters automatically |
Call to action
Choose one language and one button text from the dropdowns. Custom button text isn't supported.
Variations
With all 14 images, 5 headlines and 5 descriptions, the ad can have up to 350 variations. Ads with fewer variations tend to perform worse, for example with a higher cost per click or a lower click-through rate.
